Caring For A Presa Canario

Having a Presa Canario is like having a really strong and powerful friend that will guard your home and protect your family from all kinds of harm. That said, you need to understand that the Presa Canario is unlike any other dog breed. So, in order to ensure that things run smoothly, take note of these special Presa Canario care tips.


Food is important especially if your Presa is still a puppy. Proper nutrition can be achieved from a regular supply of premium quality dog food and clean water. You can mix with canned food and broth when the dog grows up but avoid feeding with food for humans, as this could cause imbalances.

Young puppies (8-12 weeks old) need approximately four bowls of food daily. You can reduce this to 3 meals a day from 3-6 months old. From 6 months to 1 year old, you can go twice a day.
